24 Hour Emergency Care in Texarkana

In a crisis situation, you need help fast. At Wadley Regional, we’ve combined a team of doctors, nurses and technicians who work hand-in-hand to ensure that patients in need of emergency care receive quality, compassionate medical attention 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Texarkana's First Dual Designated Level III Advanced Trauma Center

Wadley’s Emergency Department is uniquely staffed by emergency medicine physicians and a dedicated staff of nursing personnel, all who are ACLS, CPI, TNCC, PALS, and ENPC trained.

Advanced Trauma Center

The Wadley ER is staffed by specially trained health professionals who treat life-threatening injuries and illnesses.

  • Experienced physicians and nurses trained in trauma care
  • Up-to-date equipment, including bedside sonography which, allows the physician to take a ‘quick look” and identify serious conditions quickly.
  • Radiology staff stationed in the ER

Primary Stroke Service Provider

Our highly trained staff is able to recognize the signs and symptoms of acute stroke to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. We are the only hospital in Texarkana to have a neurologist physically available to see patients in the Emergency Department. Wadley is recognized by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Target Stroke Honor Role Elite Plus. This prestigious award is given by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association to hospitals who are able to treat stroke patients timely and efficiently to improve stroke patient outcomes and minimize disability from stroke.

Accredited Chest Pain Center

As an Accredited Chest Pain Center through the ACC (American College of Cardiology), the Wadley Team is committed to providing the best emergency heart care to the patients we serve. This has been achieved by enhancing coordination among all providers involved in the patient’s care: emergency responders, local EMS, our hospital ED team, the critical care unit and cardiac rehab. Our team has worked hard to reduce the time to treatment during the critical early stages of a heart attack below the national average.

Our 24-hour Chest Pain Center team is trained in identifying patients who may be having a heart attack – even when they don’t display the usual symptoms. The key to successfully treating a heart attack is early detection and treatment.

Fast Track

Our Fast Track Unit allows non-emergent patients to be seen faster, allows for better flow of emergent and critical patients through the main Emergency Department.

What you know could save your life.
Man Up & Become Heart Smart
“Many men think their symptoms are a sign of something else, like heartburn, so they do nothing,” says Peter Ofman, MD, a Steward cardiologist. “Even a man who already had a prior heart attack may not recognize his symptoms, as each attack can be dramatically different.”
